As a member of the Oshkosh community, ensuring that people get quality therapy is a primary goal for me. This is because my focus has shifted from providing quality therapy to training student and in-training licensed individuals in providing quality therapy and counseling.

Watching my practice grow from just myself in 2017 to having all the wonderful people below has brought a new sense of purpose to my life. I think you will greatly enjoy the people here. Should you ever have an issue, I want you to feel safe to share it with me.

As for my personal life, I have been married since 2010 to a supportive partner and three furbabies: Nala, Midna, and Monte. When the weather permits, I enjoy bicycling, going for walks, going for motorcycle rides, and just being outside in nature. When the weather does not permit being outdoors, I enjoy cooking, baking, and playing video/computer games.

I, Chris (he/him), grew up in Green Bay and have since moved to western Wisconsin. I am grateful for the opportunity to work here at OMFTC and appreciate the flexibility (as I am 95% virtual only) it provides as my significant other and I raise our two children.

My therapeutic orientation is integrative from various modalities—Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Internal Family Systems, Feminist, Sex Therapy (Kink/BDSM positive), and many more to fit the needs of my clients.

I am passionate about working with all relationship styles (i.e. consensual non-monogamous, monogamous) through their relationship dynamics. Therapy is working collaboratively to help you establish the goals for the change you desire. I also enjoy working with families and individuals as well. I believe in being honest and creating a safe space for all who come to see me.

I also enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community as well as being an advocate within this community. I have experience writing letters of recommendation for gender-affirming care/surgery and navigating through the socio-political-systemic issues that arise in these areas.

I am neurodivergent (ADHD) and enjoy psychoeducation and navigating relationships where one or many people are neurodivergent. With that being said, I am currently getting certified to be an ADHD Clinical Service Provider.

I am pursuing my doctorate in marriage and family therapy specializing in couples therapy through National University. In my free time, I enjoy camping, playing volleyball, trying new hobbies, spending time with my family and two dogs. I also was a volunteer with WAMFT both in the Advocacy Subcommittee and as Treasurer for several years.

I am excited to join the OMFTC team! I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with residences in Texas and Wisconsin.

I have served in several states as a professional behavioral health care provider with 25+ years in premarital and marriage counseling, social work, community service, casework management, family support advocacy, court-ordered juvenile remediation, adolescent at-risk intervention, and crisis intervention.

My collaborative, client-centered professional approach is with a biblical orientation and an evidence-based perspective of honoring and taking the client’s concerns to heart. Using Bowen family systems theory and solution-focused therapy, integrated with an eclectic therapeutic approach as interventions for change, I focus on treating the whole person by considering emotional, behavioral, contextual, and spiritual needs.

Clients can achieve healing, reconciliation, and solutions to their problems. We are formed and transformed by our experiences and relationships, and we must consider their impact on our past as we contemplate our purpose in life.

I am passionate about counseling from a social and eclectic perspective. My passion for counseling is based on its unique ability to be instrumental in assisting clients from all walks of life. EMDR weekend 1 and 2 trainings have been completed.

Through all of life’s transitions, with hope, healing, and regaining mental and emotional balance, each client can engage and enhance their inner strengths to develop the learned behaviors and skills fundamental to a meaningful and productive life.

I enjoy creating new ideas for arts and crafts during my downtime, and my bucket list is all about the beach. Insurance should cover beach therapy. There is something about sand, water, and jazz that calms the soul. We are empty nesters doing life to the fullest and enjoying long road trips. I am a Packer and Bucks fan to the end.

I am happy to have joined the therapists of OMFTC! I look forward to working with those in the community who are experiencing challenges in their marriage, family, relationships, or issues in their personal life. I strive to provide a client-focused and supportive atmosphere while utilizing an integrated therapy approach. This promotes addressing not only the needs of a family or couple, but also the individual, including children.

After decades of working and volunteering in supportive positions at abuse shelters, church programs, and school programs helping those facing various life challenges, I decided to take the journey to a formal education that would provide me with the ability to work more effectively with those I am passionate about helping.

I started my academic journey at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. I am currently finishing my Master of Marriage and Family Therapy through Abilene Christian University, with a focus on treating trauma.

I like to spend my free time with my family and friends. I enjoy many creative activities, but baking and cake decorating are my favorite hobbies. I also appreciate a good book or movie.

Hello! My name is Vineca (pronounced Vanessa), and I am an LPC-IT intern at the wonderful family here at OMFTC! I attended UW-O as an undergraduate, earning my degree in Psychology and minoring in sociology. I graduated from UW-O’s master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health. I am working on my 3,000 hours for licensure as a professionally licensed counselor in the state of Wisconsin.

Because of my own life’s experiences, I would love to help those in the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities who feel that they may dance to the beat of their own drum but are hesitant to find the ways and the confidence to do so.

My areas of interest are helping clients learn what their own story is, who and how they fit into the world, how they fit in with friends and other relationship groups, and what it all means for them. Clinically, my areas of focus are cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and client-centered holistic therapy.

I live in a big household with many fur babies, currently 11! I like to spend time tending to my house plants and my garden when Wisconsin weather permits, taking walks, hiking and finding culinary mushrooms, working on my art projects, and watching funny let’s-play videos on YouTube, as well as true crime and psychoeducational podcasts. I also love reading memoirs and existential fiction and literature.

Hi everyone, I am Kathi Zills, and I am excited to be joining OMFTC as a student intern this summer. I am currently working toward my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin–Superior, and this feels like a significant step in finally doing the work I have always felt called to do.

Before stepping into the counseling world, I spent many years in human resources, supporting people through everything from onboarding to crisis situations. Over time, I realized what truly lit me up was not policy or procedures; it was being present for people during the moments that mattered. That realization, paired with some deeply personal experiences with trauma and loss in my own life, pushed me to pursue this new path.

What drives me most is helping people believe in their ability to heal and grow, even when life has been unfair or painful. I care deeply about building trust, offering support without judgment, and helping others reconnect with themselves and the people around them.

When I am not working or studying, I love spending time with my family, relaxing at home, and getting away whenever I can for a change of scenery. I am really looking forward to growing and learning with the team at OMFTC and to the opportunity to walk alongside clients on their journey toward healing.

My therapeutic tool set includes art therapy, play therapy, and video game therapy. Outside of work and school, I love to play video games, hiking, traveling, knitting and crocheting, and giving all the hugs to my animals—two cats named Popcorn and Maddie and my adorable corgi named Lily, who may visit the office at times.

I grew up in Northfield, MN and have spent time with my wife and two kids living in a few different states now, but it is great to be back in the Midwest, and especially back in the state where my mother was born and raised.

I am currently pursuing my Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University but have also served as a hospital chaplain for over 20 years, board certified through the APC. I am also a member of CSI Rho Eta Nu Gamma chapter with Liberty University.

The modalities that interest me the most are narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy. My goal as a counselor is to help people find their inherent dignity and discover their unique life story, and I am open to faith-based sessions as well.

I enjoy working with all age groups and my goal with you is to provide a safe space where your story can be told, heard, and understood.

I am married with two children, one who will start high school this fall and the other who is a junior at UWO, as well as a golden-lab mix dog named Brophy and a cat, Olive. When I have time to re-energize I like to take walks, read, travel, perhaps kayak, and volunteer with World Relief.

Hello everyone, my name is Jim Brotz. I am joining OMFTC as an intern student. I am nearly graduated from UW-O’s master’s program in professional counseling with an emphasis on clinical mental health.

Before this program, I was a special education teacher for five years. During this time, I saw the need in my children to help them therapeutically in addition to the educational piece I had been doing.

Modalities that interest me the most are positive psychology and narrative therapy. My goal is to provide that safe space where your story can be told and heard, discovering pearls of strength and talent along the way, and helping you reach whatever goals you have set for yourself.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy walking on trails, reading fantasy books, and playing board and video games. I am currently living in Appleton, WI, and love exploring the farmers’ market and the Mile of Music celebration.

Therapy with me is a safe place to bring the overwhelming, confusing, and messy parts of life. Maybe you’re living with stress and anxiety that feels constant, stuck in relationship struggles that leave you drained, or carrying pain from the past that still feels heavy.

Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll work together to notice what is and isn’t working. My background as both an educator and a parent in a neurodivergent household helps me offer both understanding and practical tools you can use in daily life.

I have a special interest in supporting clients navigating marriage and parenting challenges, infertility, adoption, and the impact of trauma. I’m often described as compassionate, grounded, and easy to talk to, which is exactly how I want therapy to feel.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, and am in the process of training my puppy, Adora, as she grows into her role as a future therapy dog.

Hello everyone, my name is Danielle, and I will be joining OMFTC as a practicum student this upcoming spring semester. I am currently a second-year graduate student in the professional counseling program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am excited to begin my practicum at OMFTC, as it marks a new chapter in my master’s program, allowing me to continue learning and growing both professionally and personally.

I believe that life is about the connections we make and the memories we create. While perfection is unattainable, our relationships can foster resilience and growth. The way individuals connect with themselves, with others, and with the world around them is significant. Without connections and sustainable relationships, it can be quite difficult to overcome the obstacles that life presents.

I am very passionate about helping others succeed in their relationships and help them believe that there is always hope for healing and reconciliation from past relationship trauma. I always enjoy helping people reach their goals, but during my free time, I enjoy traveling and relaxing with my loved ones.

You do not have to sort this out perfectly on your own. Start Here and we will help you think through next steps, therapist fit, and availability.
